Do you know who these guys are? Well you should do as they are the founders of Airbnb. They’re the reason that we’ve had the opportunity to meet so many amazing people from so many nationalities not to mention earning some extra income along the way to help us enjoy life.
Their story is inspirational, young guys who were struggling to pay their rent and at the same time all the local hotels were booked out due to a busy conference in town.
So they set up some ‘airbeds’ and offered them to travellers. Little did they think back then that airbnb would be so huge as it is today and is changing how people travel.
These guys still use airbnb for their trips. I’m guessing now a days they go for the real top end properties and probably don’t have to pay but, what if they came and stayed with you? Would your space be up to scratch, would you have everything that a guest would need. If not well why not?
We have a thought when getting rooms ready for our airbnb guests. Any guest could be one of the airbnb founders and you would want to impress them if they came and stayed at yours, you would want to have everything perfect wouldn’t you? You would want them to see that during their stay they would be safe in the knowledge that you are people who grasp airbnb and understand this amazing movement that we are all part of and make them feel proud of what they have done.
Check lists!
Yer, okay so they sound a bit like work. But having them will mean you don’t forget anything. After a time you’ll be fine without them but they are great when starting off and for your first few bookings you would be surprised at things you may have overlooked. Nothing would be worse than a guest having to ask for soap or toilet paper!
Organisation is the key, and checklists are one step in becoming an Airbnb Pro. The list we have is quite comprehensive, but it’s saved us on a few occasions.
We’ll get it up online here for you soon.
Thanks,
Phil
