The Ourbnb Company Wheels

Here is the latest edition to our family.

Last year with the first apartment going back and forth with the large blue Ikea bags was not too much of a hassle. It’s only two blocks away and a few trips a week.

But with our new apartments it soon became apparent that we needed a solution to get the linen supplies around the city.

A moped was the first option we thought about, but with no safe place to put bags it was a no-go. A car was out of the question. Not only the cost of it but also parking (€200 per month at home and €2.50 an hour on the road by the apartments) but also driving in Barcelona is not fun. Lots of stopping and starting and trying to find road parking….nightmare!

So I decided to look into cargo bikes.

The more I read, and the more videos I watched, the more I knew it was the perfect solution. And not only for work, but we can also throw (not literally) the kids in the front as it has two seat belts. Unfortunately it did cost about the same as a second hand scooter, and at first we were put off by this. However since having it for just over a week, we are delighted. It has become a great work horse and we’ve brought the kids and even the dog to the beach and parks as-well!

We’re also just getting some custom stickers so that we can use it as an mobile advertising board.

We bought it second hand as the guy who was selling it had just bought a new one that seated 4 kids in the front!! Now to cycle that with 4 kids you’d have to have be very strong and fit with serious leg muscle or be good friends with Mr Armstrong 😉

It makes the logistics of moving everything around so much easier, quicker and we also get some good exercise in there at the same time.

We’d recommend this to any one. Unless of course you live in the San Francisco Hills!
